Creating New Lists

Create a new list in the same way you'd create any page.

Log in. Type the name of the new page, exactly as you would want it titled, into the "search" box in the left column. If that exact title does not exist, you will be given the opportunity to create it.

Add your content, and then click the "Save page" button at the bottom left of the page.

(In case you get confused, at the bottom of the page near the "save page" button is a link to editing help.)

Editorial and Style Conventions

When creating a new list: when you create the link, as above, which will create the new page (or link to an existing one), please use standard Title format. That means, all words are capitalized with the exception of such words as "a, an, of, the" and suchlike. Use the same rules as in page or book titles.

Categorization

First, check the List of Categories to see if there's already a category.

When assigning a category, the naming convention is that you use the Governmental style. Try to not be overly generic, specificity is good.

For example, don't make a category for "Stores", instead use the category for "Retail Space" and then subcategorize whether it's a freestanding building or in a mall setting, and whether or not the storefront is occupied. The category. Go from the generic to the specific, and you categorize as Category:Retail Space, Mall, Occupied or alternatively you might categorize Category:Retail Space, Detached, Vacant.
