History
Originally formed around the issue of the decaying campus of the former Robert E Peary High School on Arctic Avenue near Aspen Hill Road, the mission and issues of AHCA have changed over time, generally adapting to the current concerns of its membership.
Such issues have included road widenings, intersection improvements, speed humps, and comparable concerns. In the early 2000s, however, increasing concerns voiced by members came to include home overcrowding, large numbers of untagged vehicles parked on lawns, commercial vehicles parked in residential areas, problems with on-street parking, etc.
Past (and in some cases, present) leadership has included Eliot Chabot, Judy Tankersley, Donald Becker, David Polinski, and Alexandra Minckler.
