Community Orientation Meeting
YouthMapping
February 26, 2003, 6:30 8:00 p.m.
Argyle Middle School, 2400 Bel Pre Road
Learn about an exciting opportunity to involve young people in community development of the Wheaton Central Business District and Hewitt Avenue/Bel Pre Corridor.
Young people become the experts by canvassing the community for places to go and things to do.
They are paid for their work as mappers and field supervisors.
Training and a survey tool make it easy to gather information on the many traditional and non-traditional services for children, youth, and families. Once resources are identified, they are entered into a database and made available in user friendly ways.
Who Should Attend This Orientation: Community members, youth, civic associations, Mid-County Neighborhood Initiative members, schools, faith-based organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.
A Initiative of: The Mid-County Neighborhood Initiative (MCNI) and the Center for Youth Development and Policy Research
